Revive Adserver v5.3 released

revive-adserver-logo-h100pxRevive Adserver v5.3 has been released on September 14, 2021.

The main focus of this new version is to future proof the software by offering compatibility with PHP 8 and MySQL 8. These are the programming language, and the database sofware, respectively, that form the basis of the Revive Adserver software.

This new version does not come with any new functionality, but it does have a few small bug fixes.

Update schedule
Following the release of this new version on September 14, we’ve created an upgrade schedule for all dedicated Revive Adserver instances we host for our customers, and for our Aqua Ad Server system.

The tentative plan is to update all of the systems we host to the new version 5.3 of the Revive Adserver software before the end of October 2021.

Users will be made aware that their system has been updated by a note in the header bar of the ad management console, saying “Now v5.3!” which will link to this blog post.

Update October 26, 2021: a further v5.3.1 bug fix release of the Revive Adserver software has been released today. All ad server systems we host will be updated to this newest release in the next couple of days. Users will be able to tell if their system has been updated by a note in the header bar of their ad server console, saying “Now v5.3.1”, which will also link to this blog post.

Revive Adserver Hosting

If you have an existing, self-hosted installation of Revive Adserver, still running an older version, and would like to benefit from our expertise by migrating it to our platform, then have a look at our Dedicated Revive Adserver hosting service. As part of the migration, and at no extra charge, we will upgrade the system to the new version 5.1, and we will keep it up to date afterwards with every new release.
